1289 Nicola Street

This six storey, five unit proposal is for the corner of Nicola and Harwood, in the West End. Today there’s a four unit single storey building dating back to 1942. This proposal designed by Cornerstone Architecture would see a Passive House building with each floor having a 3-bedroom family sized apartment. While not yet confirmed, the initial idea is to use inslauted concrete forms for construction, which should increase speed and offer greater insulation levels.

There have obviously been issues with the design, as it was submitted in January, but has only just appeared. It may be in conjunction with the entrance to the underground parking, which is off the street (as the site has no lane access).
