95 East 1st Avenue

Here’s the second building built as part of the Concert Properties development in south East False Creek known as The Creek.

It is on the corner of Quebec and 1st Avenue, and is a 15-storey non-market building that will now be owned by the City of Vancouver.

The project includes not one, but two childcare centres at grade, and it’s designed by DYS Architecture; (Rafii Architects with Richard Henry designed the first building in the new complex, and the masterplan for the site). It has black brick detailing, rather than painted concrete.

The model seen by the Urban Design Panel shows the building stuck almost exactly to the original design. The brickwork is more brown than grey, which fits in well with the other buildings in the area.

The building has been completed in relatively short order – we only published details of the building just over two years ago.
