James – West 1st Avenue

James has been getting close to completion for a while. Now the first barbeques have appeared on a balcony, so we’re showing the tower portion of the scheme. The townhouses now have their golden canopies, but below we’ve added a picture of what they look like on the lane side of the building, which if anything looks even more interesting.

James is in South East False Creek, on the quieter (for now) western end of the project. Rafii Architects designed a building that bends slightly on the Crowe Street facade, and has some interesting and complicated details (like the golden canopies, and the public art light fittings and fountain). It’s a notable step up in design terms from earlier buildings in the area like Pinnacle’s West 2nd Avenue building, on the next block.
