West Pender Place

West Pender Place, located on the edge of Coal Harbour, was completed in April, and the new owners are moving into the 37 storey tower and it’s shorter sibling. It was a tight site to take two towers, and unusually narrow, but IBI/HB designed a pair of towers that fold like origami and seem to lean away from each other. There’s a fancy LED lighting display on the raw concrete stripes that run vertically up the towers, although that wasn’t operational straight away. Reliance Properties – better known for their Gastown renovations of heritage buildings – were the developer, and they used some of the bonus density from their heritage restoration work to add extra density on this site.
