Sorella and Pacific Coast Apartments

Two of the non-market schemes in the Downtown have recently completed – the most dramatic so far being the Abbott and Pender street corner building called Sorella and designed by GBL, with an extraordinary zig-zag canopy. It’s just as interesting on the lane, where it faces the business side of the Sun Tower, too. Pacific Coast Apartments designed by Davidson Yuen Simpson (these days called DYS Architecture) is an earlier project that stalled for a while, and so is in addition to the 12 sites that the City of Vancouver provided to allow BC Housing to create more much-needed non-market housing.
