The Views is a small infill building in a very important location. It sits on a narrow slot lot backing onto the Arthur Erickson designed heritage office building, The Evergreen Building, in Coal Harbour. The developers are new in Vancouver (as far as we know) – the Janda Group, and the architect initially was the very experienced W T Leung, now replaced by the equally experienced IBI/HB.
The project as currently permitted dates back to 2009, when was approved for 24 dwellings, but then sat out the downturn in the market. Now it’s been revised to turn some office space into residential units so there would be 27 apartments over 14 floors. The project hasn’t been approved just yet, but that hasn’t stopped the pre sale marketing starting up.
FYI- The architect is IBI Group and the Janda Group has great experience in shopping centre and retail developments. The builder of this project is GRAHAM construction. http://graham.ca/
Thanks for the update: we were going from the original development permit and hadn’t realised there had been a switch in architects. Fortunately ‘very experienced’ also applies equally to IBI/HB.
